A 14-year old professional photographer named, Ikemsinachukwu James Jordan welcomed guest, lovers and admirers of his works to his photo exhibition on the 19th of August in celebration of the World Photography Day.
The event took place at Crimmd Library, 138, Ejigbo-Idimu, Egbeda, Lagos had in attendance great personalities from different industries.
Born on May 1, 2007, the young boy has developed his interest and hands on experience in photography to the professional level and with over 7years experience.
Ikemsinachukwu who was born into the family of Dr. and Mrs. Rapheal James displayed his works of over a hundred pictures to the admiration of the guest. He took his time by walking the guest through each pictures on display.
In one of the picture of his father, which carries the caption “Reflection,” Ikemsinachukwu says he took the picture at an event he attended with his father. His father says he loves his reflection and the young photographer was quick to capture that very moment.
Another work on display showed the former World Boxing Federation Cruiserweight Champion, Bash Ali with his father.
His Photography Journey So Far
His journey in the business of Photography has seen him capture great personalities that includes the former governor of Oyo State, Rasheed Ladoja, Alafin Of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, Alafin of Osogbo, former governornof Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and Nollywood actress Lilian Bach. With almost all of them applauding his Photography and camera handling skills.
How He Met Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu
Dr. Orji Uzor was the former governor of Abia state who described Ikemsinachukwu the youngest professional photographer in Nigeria. Ikemsinachukwu said he covered the former governor political campaign in over six states some yeas back. After the event, he and his father could not return home that night and had to sleep in the same hotel with the former governor.
Later that night, Dr. Orji sent for him through his personal assistant. He was accompanied to the room of the former governor with his father. When the former governor saw his father, he queried that he only sent for the son and not him, which made his father declared “he is my son.”
The former governor replied saying “I am not surprised. It is clear that only genius like his father can give birth to such son.
When our team asked Ikemsinachukwu how he felt when he was described as the youngest professional photographer. He said it came to him as a shock but also acknowledged that he has been putting in much hardwork
Crimmd Library
Ikemsinachukwu took us on the tour Crimmd library owned by his father, Dr. Rapheal James. The library which is situated at 138, Ejigbo-Idimu, Egbeda, Lagos.
The library currently boast of over 6 thousand books in its shelves, ranging from law, to tourism, history, stem education, music, encyclopedia and so on.
Ikemsinachukwu Dreams
It is true that a man who does not dream is not qualified to have a future. Ikemsinachuku is not only dreaming but he is acting on his dreams. He wants to become the president of Nigeria one day. When asked why he wants to become the president, he said the negative news, killings and wanton destructions of human lives gives him sleepless night and he wants to change that.
He had already taken up leadership roles serving as class captain of his class on different occasions. He has also been on movie set shooting and playing the lead roles in his movies.
As a way of encouraging some of his peers, the young photographer has on different occasions asked to train them on camera handling and photography in general. Some showed interest but when the fixed day of the training came, none of them showed up.
Lastly, he told is that he plans to get his own website that will boast his presence online and where he can share his portfolio to the world.
He also wants to be a musician, he already knew how to play the guitar, and is already Woking on mastering the keyboard.
